hey its okay

I attended an interview last week and the outcome was not as what I expected. Yeah the person seemed keen (I judge this based on my very little experience working in the HR department). But this is a totally different country, with different values, different thinking, different culture and most importantly, different language.

However, I wanted to make sure as I did some reading in the internet and my visum (at that time) stated that I can only work with the permission of the Ausländerbehörde. I'm not sure how to translate Ausländerbehörde but its the office where migrants do their visas and apply for working permit. Different state have different regulations and different people own different visas and permissions. Since I am here under a 'dependent visa' (dependent from my husband) so there are several restrictions. And before this, my husband's visa was dependent from the company where he is currently working. So macam double restrictions la. Anyway, I showed the interviewer my passport and she checked with the HR. It seems that I don't have the permission to work. Aduh hampanya saya. Baru je nampak sinar harapan. Nevertheless, we went to the Ausländerbehörde's office and asked. It seems that now my husband's visa is no longer dependent from his company and has an independent working visa. We renewed our visa yesterday. And I automatically have the same visa and same working permit. How cool is that? Alhamdulillah.

So I called the person again and told her that my status have been upgraded and she requested that I sent a copy of my visa. Ok fine, no problem. Excited la nih.

Today I called her and she answered coldly, when I asked,

I sent a copy of my visa to you via Email and wondering if you've received it?
Ya.
Ok.. You said you will ask the HR department... em.. I am wondering what is the outcome?
Ya. I will call you when the HR say yes and when we have the project.
Ok.. Thank you very much.

Yeah, the other day she was very friendly but harini macam cold je. Perhaps because the weather is very cold today. I don't know. It seems that I don't know the Deutsche very well yet.

I told my husband. I was a little bit sad la because I thought she was still keen on accepting my application. Maybe I thought wrong. I told my husband and he said, 'It's okay, then you cari kerja lain la'

Well, hey, it's okay.. I pray that ada rezeki untuk earn some money here in Deutschland, InshaAllah..

to motivate

I should be a motivator.

When I was 16-17 years old, our guidance counselor used to give us this personality-carrier test to see what kind of job suits you best. I remember doing the test and the he said, jawab seikhlas mungkin so that your answers will be as accurate as possible.

Guess what I got. I remember vividly the jobs that were suitable for me were : Teacher, Counselor, Phychiatrist, Ahli Penyelidik.

The most unsuitable jobs for me were : Secretary, Engineer, Architect.

It's funny that I worked as a teacher and also a researcher. And most of the time, people come to me when they have problems, which makes me think like I am somehow a counselor. People always say, 'Eh betul la.. Ko sesuai jadi kaunselor'.. I even get this sometimes, 'You should be a motivator'.

Why? Honestly, I don't know why. Tomorrow my sister will be giving a talk to UIA. I was skyping with my mom and she put my sister on loudspeaker. My mom said, 'cuba kamu ckp sket dgn Yong. Dia gelabah sikit'. I feel funny because I am the youngest and she is 10 years older than me and evidently has more experience compared to me. But after listening to myself giving her some motivation, I think I sounded quite convincing.. I miss giving advices or giving motivation to people.

Why do people need motivation? Why some don't?

Right now, I could use some motivation - to give and also to receive.

hiding tears

What do you say to someone who just lost someone in their lives? It's been 34 days since the death of my dear cousin, Alif Abu Bakar. I just called my auntie (his mom) today. Why? Why did it took me so long to give them a call? The figured the parents needed some time and also I gave myself the few days to compose myself. Although I am far away from them, I could still feel the loss of a dear cousin. I didn't plan on what to say, what kind of mode should I set or what should I not say. I thought about it but when I dialled the housenumber, everything just sort of blanked out.

I spoke to his mom. She sounded very calm and her voice was somewhat low. I wasn't sure weather it was the connection or was it because she was sad. She sounded happy when she knew that it was me who called from Germany. I gave her my warmest condolences and suddenly my voice just cracked when I heard her telling me how much he missed him. I knew that she was crying at her end. I was crying too but I tried so hard not to sound like I was crying. It's hard for me to control my emotions sometimes.. especially crying.

I told her that we are lucky that we are Muslims and that Islam is a very beautiful religion. By reciting Al - Quran versus helps to calm us down and we believe that Allah does everything for a reason. And Allah loves him more.. I told her that I always recite Al - Fatihah whenever I think of him and everytime after prayers.

Its really hard to give your condolences to someone who just lost someone dearly. Its even harder when you know the person personally and grew up with him..

Al - Fatihah to Alif Abu Bakar. Rest in peace couz...

thoughts

To those January born babies have most probably celebrated their 30th birthday by now or will be celebrating it soon. 30. The big 3-0. InshaAllah kalau umur panjang, I will be celebrating my 30th birthday this May. I don't want anything. Just prayers and well wishes is more than enough for me. I would usually fear or panic or dread the thought of me reaching an older age. Looking at those socialnetwork sites would sometimes make me think about my own life.. While other people flash their family, their newborns, documenting their newborns' milestone, their wealth, their success, their 5 figure bonuses, their stateof the art gadgets.. I flash nothing interesting of myself whatsoever. Not comparing with the others but viewing it will sometimes make you think (I know you agree with me on this). But alhamdulillah I have my health, my husband, my family, good friends and Allah has been generous and making my life easier here as I would imagined. Allah has granted me strength and health which money can never buy and something that I am thankful for every single day. I don't have those other things to post but it's okay.

Winter is slowly ending. It stopped snowing when 2011 began. I would like to share with you a song. This song will always remind me of Winter 2010.. when the days were shorter and colder.. when the ray of sunlight brought smiles to everyone.. when the coffee tasted warmer.. when the hot shower felt nicer.. when the weather brought everybody and everything closer.. when everything was dark and bright at the same time.. my first Winter was a memorable experience.. I hope and pray that 2011 will be a good year for all of us.

This is Xavier Naidoo. He is a Mannheimer and used to work at my houseowner's restaurant as a tukang cuci pinggan last time. Now a multimillionaire singer. Life is funny when you think about it. How your life can change within a moment, a day, a week, a month, or a year.. you get the idea..

I was messaging with my very good old friend, also my schoolmate. He is now a father of 3 and lives in Ohio. Once in a while we would keep in contact. He asked if I had a recipe for Kuah Dal or Nasi Briyani. I told him that I don't know but my husband can cook Nasi Briyani very well and I will ask him. Then I said, its funny that I am berbalasing msgs about recipes with him. It was also a very rare occasion that his profile picture is himself with his three kids. If you had known him back then in school, you would never imagined that. He replied that sometimes he feels that moments like these seems surreal. If only he had said during school, 'Hey, in 13 years time, when I have 3 kids, I will message you in FB asking for nasi briyani resipi' and I would reply, 'Gee, I dunno la. That's my husband's specialty who is --- from class ---. I have to ask him laa'

We never thought that life would turn out to be like this. But I'm glad it did. It's the surprises in life that makes it more interesting. Every single thing that we own is from Allah, He can give and take anytime He wants to. Even our lives. Embrace life people..

Al- Fatihah for Alif Abu Bakar. Thoughts and prayers are always with you couz..

Al Fatihah

Do not be sad of his passing, but be happy that he had a good and meaningful life...

Before I start writing this blog, I request for you readers to recite Al - Fatihah for my cousin, Alif Abu Bakar bin Abdul Wahab who has left us on 13th January 2011 at the age of 28.
I have been wanting to dedicate this entry for a long time. But I needed time to compose myself and I wanted to be ready to write this.

My dear cousin, he was only a year younger than me. As children, we would meet during hari raya, weddings and kenduris, sometimes funerals and sometimes during the weekly visit to Arwah Opah's house in Subang Jaya. As we grew older, our relatives became more mobile and sometimes would just meet up. Before I flew off, I had organized a Bowling Tournament for all our relatives. Little that I know that it was his first and last bowling tournament with our cousins.. The last that I met him was 2 weeks after the tournament, they had a kenduri for his mother who was going for Umrah. And I still remember what I said to him, 'Girlfriend kamu tak datang ke?' and he laughed and said, 'Girlfriend yang mana satu?' That was Alif. Always joking and laughing.

For my wedding, he offered to be my photographer and 'sedara punya pasal' he gave me a very good price for it. And because he was my cousin, he knew the right people to snap. He did his job very well and many complimented of my pictures. He bought a special lense just before my wedding to take pictures. 'sedara punya pasal' he said and I quote.

I remember clearly when I was 4 and he was 3. We took a picture at Opah's house and he suap me a piece of cake and I hugged him. I still have that picture at home. A lot of memories we had with my dear cousin. It's really hard to believe that he is no longer with us. He would update his facebook status with comments about politics, traffic jam in KL and football. Sedih pulak rasa that I couldn't buy for him a jersey from Germany as he had requested.

His passing was a big shock for all of us. How did I find out? My husband suddenly came to the kitchen in the morning and said that he was gone. We knew that he was in the ICU for a week but I was confident that he would recover. I felt my whole body numb when I heard the news. I can't believe that my cousin was gone. He was so young. He was so full of life. He was supposed to be engaged this 30th January 2011. Jodoh, ajal dan rezeki di tangan Allah.. Ajal telah menjemput arwah sebelum dia bersatu dengan jodohnya.. Till now, I still feel his presence. It won't be the same without him around.. He was always the one to make the gatherings more ceria with his jokes and laughters.. He was loved by everyone.. but Allah loves him more..

'Dear Alip bata (I always call him that), you are loved by everyone.. you will be missed dearly.. but you will not be forgotten.. your passing has made us all closer.. I still can't believe that you are no longer with us.. But we will always pray for you.. I pray that you will be with the placed with the ones who are pious.. together with all our other relatives... We love you and we miss you very much.. But you are in a better place now... Al Fatihah...'

During Cucu Opah'S bowling Tournament.. January 2010

Rest In Peace my dear cousin... rest in peace...

Full Moon

Behind the moving clouds, I can see full moon. It's 14 Muharram. So pretty it is, subhanallah. Allah's creation.

I was about 10 years old, every Saturday night we would go to Arwah Opah's house in Subang Jaya for dinner. My sister and I would beg our parents to drop us off in Subang Parade instead or going to Opah's. We knew the answer would be no but never gave up asking. On the way backhome, I would look out the window from our car and stare at the full moon with full of awe. That was the point when I ambitioned to become a scientist. Puberty then hit me. All the teenage rebel and anger made me learn more about the environment and saving the earth. I changed my ambition to becoming an environmentalist. I did my part, I was very close friends with the President of the Kelab Pecinta Alam. On Friday nights, we would have this star-gazing activity in school. We had really cool equipments and got to play with the Telescope. I saw the surface of the moon, planet Jupiter, Saturn and it's ring and 5 of its moon orbiting and that was an amazing experience. I developed a passion towards Astronomy. I did a lot of reading about the subject. And somewhere along the way, from astronomical reading, I learned to express things through writing. I had alot of ideas for poems, novels and songs. I learned how to compose music from my piano lessons. Then I switched to the arts world. I was dead serious about it. I wrote drama scripts and directed teather. However, things change. I ended up working for a bank and later became a Statistics lecturer. Now a housewife struggling with Deutsch.

Throughout all these years, I have stared at the moon from I was a little girl and now a woman. There has been myriad changes throughout my life, but the moon stays the same. It amazes me how crazy we are here coping with change and the moon calms us down. How ironic it is for me to say that it makes you feel down to earth a little. What blows my mind is that from whichever part of the world we are, we share the same moon. Perhaps at that particular time that I am staring at the moon, you are staring at it too. Sometimes these taughts come to my mind. I am reminded of a conversation that took place when I was in my early 20s. It was during Friday prayers and my friend had said this, 'You know, maybe our jodoh tengah sembahyang jumaat at this very minute'. And I said, 'Hmm.. tak semestinya.. Kalau dia kat overseas ke sekarang?' At that moment, I had no idea why I said that. But I remember it vividly. I thought about this conversation an hour before my akad. It freaked me out a little.

We all share the same moon, the same sun. From wherever we are. It's not just facebook that keeps us connected. It's the universe.

mulut berasap

This morning, around 620am, I opened the windows to get a breath of fresh air. Bila hembus, mulut saya berasap. Translation : It's cold outside (2°C). You never really comprehend the weather here. Last night it was warm, probably because we switched on the main heater and the electric heater. I had to switch on the kipas. Kelakar kan ? Because when it's cold, opening the windows would be killing yourself to death. But you still need some air. And sometimes bila dah terperuk je dalam bilik, udara dia feels stagnant. So dengan bantuan kipas, might make the air bergerak sket.

Also bila cuaca sejuk, rase malas nak buat semua bende. Paling tak productive. Termasuklah, susah nak bangun. Dan susah juga nak kejutkan anak dara di bilik sebelah ni (our houseowner's 14 y/o daughter). 2 days ago I woke her up kol 615 dia bukak pintu and said she will wake up at 630 so tak payah kejutkan dia. At 7am I ketuk lagi nak soh dia bgn tapi dia ckp ok ok. So fine. 8am mak dia call tanya anak nya dah bgn ker sbb dah kol 8am. So I ketuk lagi and she kelam kabut siap gi skolah. Now its 715am here and ayah dia dah panggil tadi soh bgn and I dah kejutkan skali dia bebel² something I didnt hear.. and it has been 1 hour. Dia masih lagi berhibernate :p I tak kisah nak kejutkan tapi saya yang cemas sbb awak tu masih in high school. Kalu uni ke takpe la gak nak gi lambat².. So what should I do now? Kalau anak sendiri ataupun anak sedara, I dah simbah dengan air sejuk.. :p

8 minutes at the Bahnhof

Today I watched the birds eating pretzels. I was at the Bahnhof waiting for my 63 Bus to Pfalzplatz. I was carrying chicken, berat 1kg and onions. It wasn't that heavy but I just felt like sitting down. I kept on looking at the board..

63 Pfalzplatz 8 mins

As there were an empty seat, I sat down, facing the pedastrian area. Sometimes when I wait for the bus, its nice to just watch people walk around. Their dressing, the way they talk, how they greet each other. I guess I am trying to learn their culture. Germans are generally polite people. Their language and the way they speak, the phonetics have a very polite melody. And in class, Markus would teach us how to speak like native German. Sometimes it can be hard but we love the challenge.

So there I was, sitting down waiting for the bus. Another 6 minutes to go. I saw a homeless man with Pretzel in his hand. He looked abit dirty. I always see him around everytime I am at the Bahnhof. What does he do with the Pretzel ? He gives it to the Pigeons. And suddenly there were alot of pigeons in front of me. It was somesort of a magical moment for me. But I guess the Germans were used to it because it was not a big deal for them. I had that WOW look on my face (husband always say that I have that muka excited penuh dengan harapan look).

All I did there till the bus came was watch the pigeons eat. And with all the people walking around near the Bahnhof, it was just me and the homeless guy who had witness this event. We were the only ones who enjoyed watching the birds eat even though we cant (me fasing, him homeless).

Exactly at 152, the bus came. It was a nice 8 minutes at the Bahnhof.

sini pun ada drama tau

Its been months that I am here. Actually it was 2 days ago and I had written a very long and meaningful blog until BLOGGER jadi gila! and everything that I blogged about vanished into thin web-air. sigh°° takde rezeki.

Updates : nothing much though. Been going to school everyday and weekends lepak at home kemas rumah, and hangging out with my husband. (I still can't call him hubby like everyone else does. I don't know why.. ). Puasa has been great. Alhamdulillah. The weather is really mundane and cold (good for us who are fasting). And maghrib time is now getting earlier and earlier everyday :) Although it's not officially Autumn, but it feels like it. Even though I have never experienced Autumn before :p

Next week will be my last week attending class. I have enrolled for the following course in December. It's kinda sad though, that I will be joining another group. I really enjoy my class and my teacher, Markus is great. He makes us really study and learn Deutsch. For A2,1, since Agnes is teaching another group, we were assigned a new teacher. Everyone calls her Oma (grandma) because she is quite elderly. At feel abit kesian because my classmates always say that she is slow and boring, since we are very used to Markus' tempo. It's true though, she is slow tapi I am abit softhearted kot. .. Ntah..

Anyway, the drama between Mr.Z and Mr.S. Ok saya akan tulis in BM now. Sebab kot² la my classmate terjumpa this blog ker :p Ingat tak I ada cakap tentang this one guy yang ajak semua orang keluar makan kecuali myself and 2 lagi budak Arab  ? Ok. Kisahnya berlalu about a month ago. A few weeks before bulan puasa. We were talking about bulan puasa. And S was explaining pasal apa itu puasa pada Z. Skali I diganggu oleh classmate lain about some question so I wasn't 100% there. Ni berlaku mase 15 mins rehat. Tau² jer, S cakap to Z, in English. 'Aku boleh bunuh kau kalau kau cakap macam tu tau..' And he sounded serious. Tiba² cikgu pun masuk. Sekali saya tanya Z. KEnapa ? Dia cakap dia tak percaya pada Tuhan. Saya tanya dia, dia takde agama ker ? Dia cakap dia seorang Christian tapi tak penah practise. And dia cakap dia tak percaya pada Tuhan dan cakap jugak, so what? Ok la fine. Dia tak percaya Tuhan. Lantak pi laa.. I pun malas nak argue dengan dia sebabnya dia memang macam ego. Tau tau jer lepas tu Z dan S sudah tidak bertegur sapa. And I asked S, kenapa korang tak cakap.

Tapi haritu saya greet dia Guten Morgen (good morning) pun dia tak pandang pun nak jawab.

Takpe la. Saya pun malas nak berkawan dengan orang sebegitu ego dan sentiasa fikirkan dia tu betul. Kadang² dalam kelas dia letak kaki atas meja (macam dalam movie) waktu rehat. Macam bagus la. Tau la dia matsalleh and memang dia bijak dalam kelas. Kadang² tu dia asik² belek² hp and I find it rather rude, cikgu tengah ngajar lepas tu dia tak pay attention. Ada sekali tu cikgu tanya dia soalan time dia tengah main hp, and dia boleh cakap, 'apa dia? i wasn't listening'.

Mungkin dia tercabar sebab dia seorang lelaki and tak bekerja and wife dia bekerja. Sbb haritu the class was discussing about Hous-men, and Z bulat² membangkang and cakap, apsal lak tak boleh ? sah sah dia tak setuju sebab dia adalah seorang Hous-men jugak. Dari tu kami semua boleh nampak yang dia ni stock offensive-defensive kinda. So biarlah dia.. Penat jer panjang lebar citer pasal mamat nih. Hmmph.. Bukan apa, kitorang reramai dari bulan 6, asik menghadap muka sama jer.. makin lama, rasa makin rapat sesama classmate.. and sedih la bila ada gado gado macam nih.. Tapi next week is my last week with them and they will go on sampai december.. Bestnya.. I december baru sambung.. and most probably inshaAllah kalu semua okay, March akan amek pekse.. I hope I can do it.. Then, I boleh la either sambung blajar or cari kerja sini pun best jugak :) Inshallah, kalau usaha, ada jayanya :)

Okla, I buat post lain la pulak untuk cerita benda lain k..
Take care all. Selamat berpuasa!

malas-nak-type syndrom

Im so bad. For a few days, I got the 'malas-nak-type' syndrom. I didn't update my facebook or my blog or replied any emails (ko punya Shaz, nnt aku reply) until today. But I am slowly getting there.

Kenapa ? Perhaps because it is Ramadhan. Which is a good thing. Kurangkan berFB, that's my daily goal :)

Yesterday was quite a tiring day. I was up and down the city trying to find 40 X 40 X 40 boxes or nearest to it or smaller.. Jumpa la kat Bauhaus tapi 41 X 45.5 X 34.5. I didn't get them yet. That would be my last resort kalu tak jumpa. Balik jer flat. But while singgahing at Galleria Kaufhof, (suka nya!) I saw Dr. Oatker's instant chocolate cake and terus teringin sangat nak buat. So I bought it. Nak bake smlm la kire.. But I was too tired when I got back. I reached home at 415pm and a few minutes after that my husband pun sampai. Here was our conversation.

Husband : I bought something today.
Me : Waaa.. für mich?? (for me)
Husband : Nein, für uns (No, for us).

My husband took something our of his bag and tada! There were noodles, sardine with tomatoes and .............. keropok!

Husband : You nak order pizza kan ? Dengan syarat, kena goreng keropok nih.. :p
Me : waaaa bestnya!! ok ok, nanti I gorengkan.. Actually, I pun ada beli something.. für uns auch.. (for us also)..

I took out the cake yg beli from Kaufhof..

Husband : waaa.. you nak bake ke tu ? Tapi I punya lagi best.. Kek mana² boleh dapat.. Ni keropok.. How can you beat that! :p

Betul gak tuu :p Memang dok cari keropok for awhile now.. Ada je kat Asea Shop tu tapi tak jumpa. Kedai Asea Shop tu mmg macam horror sikit. Banyak sangat barang and lantai dia warna hitam. Lorong dia kecik sangat and takde tempat nak letak barang.. Some of the things dia pakai letak je atas lantai.. It reminds me of kedai runcit old skool kat Mesia.. particularly kat SS5 :p

Later on I ordered la Pizza after berhari hari teringin nak makan pizza.. On Sunday, I ordered Joey's Pizza gak. Sebelum tu, I made roti jala tapi fail...2 round.. And masa buka puasa, I ate pudding roti yang dah lain macam rasanya.. (rosak).. So after all the aftermath, yesterday's pizza (vege.. finally!) tasted so sedap..

Update citer about school pulak. A guy classmate yesterday invited everyone keluar lunch at some Bistro today.. except for.. guess who ? guess guess?? except for me and another 2 Iranian students.. Warum ? Memang la we all tengah puasa tapi dia ni memang purposely pergi kat everyone except for us..

Hmm.. sedih tu sedih la.. but malas la nak layan orang yang ego and always thinks he is right.. (Actually ada citer yang lebih panjang and hangat di sebalik kisah nih, kalau dah habis malas-nak-type syndrom ni, I will blog about it okay). Oklah, I have to go. Syndrom is attacking now!

Tschüss! and selamat berpuasa!!

PS : Perasan tak pattern I tulis macam tengah bercakap dengan orang ?

Ada Apa Dengan Deutsch.. dan Deutschland

Today while walking around in the hot sun to do my assignment, I was laughing alone tanpa disedari. Mainly because I recalled several incidents yang mencuit hati and also some new experiences I would like to share that had recently happened.

Incident 1 : Ingat ni kedai Turkei ke?
Right now, we are learning Past Tense (Perfekt) in our Deutschkurs. My teacher gave us homework and usually my husband will check after I have completed it. This was the conversation..

Wife : Tolong checkkan ayat ni betul tak? '....Maria und Jochen hat ein flasche Wein getrunken und ein Stück Fleisch bestellt (Maria and Jochen minom satu gelas air wain dan order satu potong daging)... '

Husband : (checked and laughed) ... tengok la ayat you nih.. diorang minom air wein.. tapi order daging.. you igt ni kedai Turkei ke boleh order² daging.. bang.. bagi sekilo daging bang...

Wife : (Gelak tergolek²)

Incident 2 : Jikalau takde Aral Melintang

Wife : I dah pergi Aral (kedai Stesen minyak) kat KFC tapi tak jmpa gak Relentless Shots tu.. I rase kena pergi Aral lain kot..

Husband : Cuba you pergi Aral dekat Netto kat rumah tu..

Wife : Tu la I rase smlm I ada ternampak.. nak pergi balik la.. Kalu tak.. taktau lagi nak pergi Aral mane dah

Husband : I tau.. kalau u tak jumpa jugak.. I know where you should go..

Wife : Mane ? (intonation dengan penuh harapan)

Husband : Aral Melintang..

Wife : !!!!!!!!

Incident 3 : Tak berapa nak kelakar walaupun pelik tapi benar..
Conversation between me (LS) and my classmate (MC)

MC : LS, schiashishiashia (said something in Mandarin)
LS : Bitte ? (Apa mu royak nih??)
MC : You speak mandarin or cantonse ?
LS : Er... neither..
MC : Oh ? You're from Malaysia right ? I thought Malaysians can speak either Mandarin or Cantonse ?
LS : Ooh.. ya.. but those are Chinese Malaysians.. I am not.. I am a Malay..
MC : Oh ?? (surprised) You mean you're not chinese ?
LS : (nganga ???? ohmyGod... seriously????)

Incident 4: Menyenangkan benda yang susah sket

Cikgu : In Deutsch, I know you don't like it, but we have artikel for every nouns. Every noun has genders and you can know the gender of the noun from the artikel. You have to memorize each artikel for each nouns. However, there are some that you can be sure of the gender of the nouns. For example, and nouns that have a '-chen' in the end is neutrum. i.e. das Brotchen (small bread), das Tischen (small table), das Stühlchen...

MC : That's easy.. just refer as everything as small.. then you can know the gender (neutrum) .. small person, small cake, small everything!

Me : One way to remember it!

There are a few more incidents that had happened.. mainly about class.. would love to blog about it.. tapi I cant really remember the details.. also other random stuff.. sigh.. rindu pulak nak berblog but I have lots of things to do right now... Biss später!!

Youtube

Lately I have been listening to Hari Raya songs. I dont know why. Rindu rumah pun ye. Tak sabar nak bulan puasa pun ye. A mixed feeling. My most favourite would be Aman Shah singing Kepulangan Yang Dinanti. Sedih and sebak bila dengar that song.

Last year was the first time I raya as a wife without my husband beside me but my family with me.. This year, Inshallah will be the first raya together as husband and wife.. however, my family will be 13000 kms away....

Listening to this song

when the wind blows

It's been more than a year that I have been married. It's been 4 months that I am here in DE. While waiting for the bus yesterday and today, I thought about these two facts. I remember the time when I was in boarding school or at college I would wait for the weekend or the month end so that I can plan my way back home. That's when I can be dependent and be a teenager or a youngster, eat healthy home cooked food, wake up late and laze around the house watching tv.

It's a different case now. I am now not in boarding school or college. There is no waiting for a weekend to go back home. Because I go back home everyday after school. The next time we go back to Malaysia would be our parents' home. Of course it will also be our home for awhile when we are there. But we have a home here (alhamdulillah). My husband said to me, This is our home and it hit me. He's right.

what I can conclude for the past month

A lot has happened since I was away, let me start slowly.. See the thing is, I used to have a personal journal, where I jot everything and once in a while I will read it so I will remember things. Now that I have a blog, I can just type it here. Plus, I don't have a notebook here. Like a physical notebook... where I can write on. And to buy one, is just so expensive (4€ = RM 20) for a small notebook. Thanks but no thanks.

My husband was admitted to the hospital after earth hour day (also the day for the daylight saving) because he broke his leg. His tulang febula broke into two and ankle lari alignment sikit. Also ligamen terkoyak. It was nobody's fault, he just fell and perhaps it was the pressure and position of kaki that broke his leg.

During the first week of April, I had to be the independent woman. Sleeping alone at home was something I have never done in my entire life.. even back in KL, I will always have someone sleep in the house with me.. even in a different room. It was a good thing that I already knew how to do grocery shopping all by myself before it all happened. And buy the bus ticket too. Since everything is in Deutsch, it was abit challenging but alhamdulillah I pulled it through. everyday I went back and forth to the hospital Universitätsklinikum and home while he was recuperating. While in the hospital, I brushed up on my Deutsch. The grammar is excruciating!

Of course since I am known as 'the explorer', I like to explore things and venture on my own. Cause I believe that getting lost, making mistakes and trying an error is a wonderful process of learning. Everytime I come back from somewhere, I will learn something and share it with my husband. The whole process was an experience for me.

My husband was discharged after a week being in the hospital. I became the nurse at home. Everynight for 20 nights, I had to cucuk my husband with Fraxiparin 0,3 ml to prevent him from getting trombosis. This I had to go to the Apotheke near Kalmitstraße to get it after being prescribed from the doctor. The physiotherapist would come twice a week to train him on how to walk using the crutches. The whole experience is something I will never forget. It had taught me to be calm at a time of panic, strong when either one of us is weak, confidence and togetherness. It had brought us closer. Without realizing, I had gone beyond my limits. I had done and experience so many things within 2 months of being a housewife than my normal routine life when I was working. funny thing is, a person commented about being a housewife, 'dont be a housewife, not good for your brain' and someone replied 'not unless you use it'. Well, I couldn't agree more on the latter.

I will be starting my intergration course in Abendakademie in the city starting 14-6-2010. I can't wait. In the mean time, I am learning at home how to speak Deutsch. Wish me luck!
