So what's your plan ?
So
you bila lagi ?
For the past 11 months, these are the FAQs in my life nowadays. People are so concerned about me and my plans about my future. It's really overwhelming sometimes.
Maybe because of the age factor that I find some things are abit too personal to share or to be discussed openly especially via the internet. The internet has been a great tool to connect people from all over the globe. Recipes can be shared in an instant. Questions, enquiries, photos, information, everything that can be softcopied is in the internet.
So what is my plan ? I think it's for me to figure it out for now. Living here is not like living in other countries I guess. Doing business as a side income is not as easy as it is in KL or in UK or US(I suppose). Everything has to be documented and legalized and registered. Being a nanny also is not possible yet until you are registered or covered with insurance and with a working permit. And to obtain that is not possible until after 1 year of staying here with my family reunion visum.Perhaps continue studies which I am now slowly browsing a few programs.
And before all of that can happen, language is a must here. That is one of my biggest challenges now. So for now, I am a full time housewife and enjoying every bit of it. Before this, we were in a long distance marriage for about 7 months and prior to our marriage, we were in a long distance relationship for 3 and a half years. We didn't get to see each other that much or talk on the phone as often as other couples do. Of course internet was our mode of communication where it's cheap and easily accessable. So right now, with the both of us being at home almost all the time (except whenever I need to do some errands), it's really God's way of giving us the
time that we didn't get to spend together before this.
I am a very optimistic person. And I will always find ways, even when there are times that when all doors seem closed, I always have that 5% confidence that anything is possible. Perhaps the attribute that I have, that God had sent me here at the right time for me to take care of my husband and our family. Since what had happened, I noticed myself remembering Allah more. I try to start every single thing with
Bismillah and to end everything with
Alhamdulillah. They taught us that in primary school. But many of us have forgotten. I was one of those. After I read (half) of The Muslim Bride, it had taught or reminded me that little things counts. Such as what I have mentioned. Of course I am too far from being called a pious person.
So
U bila lagi? Of course, when you are married, the immediate question that people will ask you is that. Referring to
bila lagi nak ada anak or
parents menimang cucu or
sewaktu dengannya. When someone asks that to a couple, all eyes will be on the wife (which is weird because I believe it's a two-person job). To be honest, I really don't have an answer. I wish I knew but I know for sure Allah knows the answer. So I will leave it to Him. I am sure He has plans for us.
Inshallah when the time comes then we will know it. It's something that I cannot answer for now.
Since facebook.com is the in-thing nowadays, it has become a routine or somesort of lifestyle. Even handphones have been tailor-made feature of facebook or twitter. So that people can update and announce every single moment or activity in their lives to the world. Photos to be shared for everyone. I used to be unaware of the dangers of this phenomena (sharing everything with everyone). But now, I have mellowed down and used this tool as something useful such as if I wanna get an immediate response about any questions or doubts. And the result is, they respond quite immediately. It's amazing that people can just hang in front of the computer for hours just waiting to comment or view other people's updates. Wow. I should know. I was once that person.
Now I have learned to value a lot of things. Value food. I try my very best to make my plate empty after every meal because it's my husband's hard earned money and I have walked and carried the food from the grocery store and cooked it myself. I feel that it's a waste if I don't at least try to finish it. Rasa sayang nak throw food in the dustbin. Value time. I try to make time for my husband, call my family once in a while and also try to keep in touch with good friends. I value people and their opinion. The good ones I will try to ponder and think about. I value time and timing. As I have many times missed the bus even though I ran as fast as I could while carrying a load of groceries. Sometimes on the way back home from grocery, I would remember the time that when I used to drive to Giant and park as near as possible to the main entrance so that I won't have to walk very far when carrying the car. Tu pun trolly dah bawak sampai boot kereta. Now it's a totally different story. But the time spent walking is the time I use to think about things. The little things such as these as before when driving, I needed to concentrate on the road.
I guess this is how I learn to be independent and dependent at the same time. People say being a housewife is easy. Nothing to do at home. But it's actually a 24 hour job with flexible breaks. As long as your husband is back to a nice clean home and he is happy that is the best feeling ever. And every bit of whatever you're doing, if your niat is betul, inshallah you will get the reward.
I read a few disturbing FB statuses earlier. I hope I won't be like those people.
Ok ini post yg hilang yg I mentioned earlier.. This post was somewhere in May but I just tekan PUBLISH POST today. Except for the last part..
