1hour

today is earth hour and tomorrow is daylight saving. that means the clock will switch when it strikes 1am, dia reverse balik to 12am. 12am, dia kedepan to 1 am. (correction, i still confuse myself with daylight saving) and then we would have 6 hours difference with KL instead of 7 hours like today. it also marks that Spring is officially officially here.

when i think of earth hour, i would remember last year, when my husband broke his leg. and now it has been a year.

I posted on my fb status that i pray for happiness for all mankind since there has been so many negative vibes around. So I decided, I am gonna be on hiatus for awhile. I need to concentrate on things that really matters. and internet or to be specific, facebook has been taking too much of my time..

I am not sure of what our plans are for tonite because germany takde earth hour. but we have been quite environmental. i think that the earth deserves more and just 1 hour per year.. we can all take part in saving the environment in so many ways :)

enjoy your earth hour!

till then!

hey its okay

I attended an interview last week and the outcome was not as what I expected. Yeah the person seemed keen (I judge this based on my very little experience working in the HR department). But this is a totally different country, with different values, different thinking, different culture and most importantly, different language.

However, I wanted to make sure as I did some reading in the internet and my visum (at that time) stated that I can only work with the permission of the Ausländerbehörde. I'm not sure how to translate Ausländerbehörde but its the office where migrants do their visas and apply for working permit. Different state have different regulations and different people own different visas and permissions. Since I am here under a 'dependent visa' (dependent from my husband) so there are several restrictions. And before this, my husband's visa was dependent from the company where he is currently working. So macam double restrictions la. Anyway, I showed the interviewer my passport and she checked with the HR. It seems that I don't have the permission to work. Aduh hampanya saya. Baru je nampak sinar harapan. Nevertheless, we went to the Ausländerbehörde's office and asked. It seems that now my husband's visa is no longer dependent from his company and has an independent working visa. We renewed our visa yesterday. And I automatically have the same visa and same working permit. How cool is that? Alhamdulillah.

So I called the person again and told her that my status have been upgraded and she requested that I sent a copy of my visa. Ok fine, no problem. Excited la nih.

Today I called her and she answered coldly, when I asked,

I sent a copy of my visa to you via Email and wondering if you've received it?
Ya.
Ok.. You said you will ask the HR department... em.. I am wondering what is the outcome?
Ya. I will call you when the HR say yes and when we have the project.
Ok.. Thank you very much.

Yeah, the other day she was very friendly but harini macam cold je. Perhaps because the weather is very cold today. I don't know. It seems that I don't know the Deutsche very well yet.

I told my husband. I was a little bit sad la because I thought she was still keen on accepting my application. Maybe I thought wrong. I told my husband and he said, 'It's okay, then you cari kerja lain la'

Well, hey, it's okay.. I pray that ada rezeki untuk earn some money here in Deutschland, InshaAllah..

something about acoustic

I discovered her yesterday. Superb voice and performance. Enjoy !

Ada apa dengan Thailand

We are now at the last chapter and also the last week of our lesson. Topic last ni adalah 'Reisen und Möbilität'. Travelling and mobility. So semua orang citer la mana dia suka pergi travel. And ramai cakap, Thailand (tensyennye, dekat je dengan Mesia. Nape tak nak cakap Mesia?). Yes, Thailand has beautiful beaches and also they like the fact that alcohol are sold almost everywhere. I too would like to go to Thailand again, Krabi actually. Ataupun Ko Samui. Heavenly beaches.

Perhaps in the beginning, I wasn't fond of this group. Rasa macam takde ngam sebab ramai daripada Timur Eropah and they like to hangout together and cakap Russisch. Tapi towards the end, ada kalanya kita hangout and gurau senda sesama classmate. Walaupun diorang muda muda belaka, aged around 19-20, tapi disebabkan badan² diorang besar ataupun me being relatively small compared to them, rasa macam lebih kurang sama umur. Sometimes I join. But now class dah tak berapa stress, its either we are improving ataupun cikgu mcm rasa kita nampak confident bercakap (kot) walaupun kadang² berterabur jugak sana sini.

Tapi bila berada dengan group² muda ni, terasa diri ni macam muda balik. Tambah² lagi sama² belajar dengan diorang, instead of teaching them. Dulu my students umur lagi tua daripada diorang nih. Nampak badan besar tapi suka main cuit² lepas tu menyorok. Ataupun berdiri belah kanan, tapi cuit belah kiri. Macam my anak² sedara selalu buat la.. Ataupun macam masa kita sekolah² dulu kan. Tiap² hari la kena. Tapi anggap macam adik² la. Adik matsalleh. Hahaha.

It's an experience I guess. An experience that I will cherish kot. And hopefully dapat hang out sekali sekala for coffee ataupun shisha. Gonna miss this buncha people!

ennui

I learned a new word today. (auf English)

ennui–noun
a feeling of utter weariness and discontent resulting from satiety or lack of interest; boredom:

The endless lecture produced an unbearable ennui.

to motivate

I should be a motivator.

When I was 16-17 years old, our guidance counselor used to give us this personality-carrier test to see what kind of job suits you best. I remember doing the test and the he said, jawab seikhlas mungkin so that your answers will be as accurate as possible.

Guess what I got. I remember vividly the jobs that were suitable for me were : Teacher, Counselor, Phychiatrist, Ahli Penyelidik.

The most unsuitable jobs for me were : Secretary, Engineer, Architect.

It's funny that I worked as a teacher and also a researcher. And most of the time, people come to me when they have problems, which makes me think like I am somehow a counselor. People always say, 'Eh betul la.. Ko sesuai jadi kaunselor'.. I even get this sometimes, 'You should be a motivator'.

Why? Honestly, I don't know why. Tomorrow my sister will be giving a talk to UIA. I was skyping with my mom and she put my sister on loudspeaker. My mom said, 'cuba kamu ckp sket dgn Yong. Dia gelabah sikit'. I feel funny because I am the youngest and she is 10 years older than me and evidently has more experience compared to me. But after listening to myself giving her some motivation, I think I sounded quite convincing.. I miss giving advices or giving motivation to people.

Why do people need motivation? Why some don't?

Right now, I could use some motivation - to give and also to receive.

Public Speaking

I forgot that we had a mock test today. No wonder everyone came early. But I think, I am ok ok la kot since I have been studying. Cuba the Mündlicher Prüfung (bab berckp) tu masih sekat² lagi.

All in all, i think it was okay. Tunggu results next week. Tp ni baru mock test. Hopefully I can do well for the real deal. Anyway, for the Mündlicher Prüfung, the first part is the self introduction to the examiner part. So the teacher asked who wants to volunteer bercakap for the Self Introduction part? As usual, semua tunduk bawah. and suddenly I heard voices from the back calling out my name, maka cikgu pun asked me to Introduce myself. Damn.

I hate to speak in front of 25 sets of eyes looking at me. Although I was a lecturer before, masa tu rasanya confident lagi since my spectators adalah kanak2 riang.. ini matsalleh2 yg berbadan besar.. and some more in Deutsch lak tu. So okla i pun dgn confidently introduced myself.

Ich heiße D... (My name is D..)Ich komme aus Malaysien. (I am from Malaysia) Ich bin auch in Malaysien geboren. (Born in Malaysia) Diese Jahr bin ich 30 Jahre alt. (this year i will be 30) Ich bin verheiratet (i am married).

That was the easy part. The hard part was when the teacher asked me questions. Argh! merah muka and gigil!

(Nape tinggal sini? I tinggal sini sbb nak duduk sama2 dgn suami)

(mana kenal suami? kat skolah)

Hast du in Tioman gegangen? Nein. Ich habe noch nicht. (penah gi tioman? lom)

Hast du in the zwillinger Turm gegangan? (time ni dia buat aksi twin tower KLCC). Nein noch nichts. (penah naik KLCC? tak penah)

Was macht du später in Deutschland? (apa plan you lps ni?) Masa ni i terkaku dan tak terjawab. But I buat2 mcm tak brape dgr soalan tu.. And asked him to repeat so that I can construct the sentence in Deutsch. And I totally froze.. I answered something so merepek and he had to correct me. Arghhhh maluuuuuuuuuu!!

I always thought that I am confident in public speaking. Apparently, no :(
