Blogged on 25th December 2010 ::
Since it's the holiday season, a lot of the series' themes were very Christmas-y. In addition, it's been snowing the whole day yesterday and today when we woke up, it was seputih - putihnya. Guess the Germans' got their White Christmas.
Meanwhile, me and my husband spent the day just chilling at home. We got back almost at 1:30 am last night. We were invited for a 4-Course Christmas dinner at our houseowner's place (we live 2 stairs up from them). It was the first time I ate daging Rusa. It tasted not bad I guess. It was us, Kak Anis and Joe, and his mom (Oma, she is 89) and their friend Eric. After dinner, we had a little karaoke session and I scored the highest (97% btw) hehehe. My husband suddenly asked me if I wanted a karaoke set after he saw me meng-kongker microphone. heheheh.. We shall see :)
Yeah, karaoke is one way of boosting your self esteem. Which I need very much right now. Perhaps it's the winter talking or the holiday season thingy. Im not sure. I also played the piano a little. I played Beethoven"s piece Für Elise which I learned by hard (ke heart?) since I was 9 years old. Then I played a the shorter version of The Entertainer who left Joe whistling the song over and over again hehehe. I learned that the piano that I was playing survived the World War 2. It was Oma's piano and now Carie's. It's been around since 1935. It's older than my dad. And it's still in superb condition (German made :p ). Oma was telling about her life and how it was during the world war. Mannheim was one of the cities that got bombed. What's cool about old German people is that they have stories to tell about the war. And what better way to learn my German than talking to an old lady who speaks slowly but perfect German grammar. I understood her stories, or at least 70% of it. Oma wears a necklace that was given by her 1st husband. They got married when they were 19. Two weeks after the wedding, he had to go to war. He died in the war. She was devastated. She loved her first husband dearly and speaks fondly of him. Sedihnya. Macam dalam movie.
This morning I thought about Oma's love story. I was in for a love movie kinda mood. So I watched 'The Lakehouse' today. My husband (who never watches a movie twice) sat and watched it (again) with me. The story is a fiction. And there were several questions that was playing in my head while I was watching it. After the movie, me n my husband discussed about it and came to a conclusion that we both agreed (although it would never happen in real life). It was a nice show. What I like about it is that the thought about that guy... (opps.. don't wanna spoil the movie - if you haven't watched it). I would give it 8 out of 10 for The Lakehouse. 1 point was because Keanu Reaves heheheh.

After watching Jason Segel (the guy in How I met your mother) on Conan, we decided to check out Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He did mention that there are several scenes that he showed his you-know-what secara terang dan jelas. I almost puked when I saw 'it'. Selamba jer dia. My husband said, "It's his job what.. He's an actor" Hahaha.. sabar je la. But the movie was okla.. Funny. I recommend you to watch it when you are feeling macam nak tengok lawak2 bodoh. Nothing to wow about but just ok for me. I would give this movie a half half 5 out of 10.
Since I was in a movie marathon mood, I finally decided to watch the much talked about movie. Eat, Pray, Love. I would say that I was quite disappointed with that movie. Nothing much to wow about. I even fell asleep during that movie. Till now I don't think I wanna continue watching it. It's not so bad but it's not that good either. The movie is highly overrated just because Julia Roberts was starring in it. I would rate this halfly watched movie a 3.5 out of 10 for Eat, Pray, Love. Sorry.
After much disppointment, I switched my mood to a girly-girly movie kinda. I decided to catch up on The Sisterhood of the travelling pants. The only reason I wanted to watch this movie was because of Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively (she spells out Tall, Rich, Beautiful and Style). Terpengaruh dengan Gossip Girl. Maybe it's the effect of the Eat, Pray, Love movie, or maybe because I will be 30 next year, but this movie was not for me kot. It's loud (as in girls asik2 cakap which is memeningkan - Imagine Gilmore Girls darab 2), and tambah lagi pening because there are four main characters and they keep on switching scenes between all four of them. The minute you start to focus on one character, they change to another character. (a good observation. Mental Note : not to do that if I decide to direct a movie or write a novel :p ) Rating, 4 out of 10. 1 point is because I like the concept of the travelling jeans.. And only that..
Tonight my husband and I are gonna watch Reign over me starring Adam Sandler. So I hope I am able to give some reviews :)

mulut berasap
This morning, around 620am, I opened the windows to get a breath of fresh air. Bila hembus, mulut saya berasap. Translation : It's cold outside (2°C). You never really comprehend the weather here. Last night it was warm, probably because we switched on the main heater and the electric heater. I had to switch on the kipas. Kelakar kan ? Because when it's cold, opening the windows would be killing yourself to death. But you still need some air. And sometimes bila dah terperuk je dalam bilik, udara dia feels stagnant. So dengan bantuan kipas, might make the air bergerak sket.
Also bila cuaca sejuk, rase malas nak buat semua bende. Paling tak productive. Termasuklah, susah nak bangun. Dan susah juga nak kejutkan anak dara di bilik sebelah ni (our houseowner's 14 y/o daughter). 2 days ago I woke her up kol 615 dia bukak pintu and said she will wake up at 630 so tak payah kejutkan dia. At 7am I ketuk lagi nak soh dia bgn tapi dia ckp ok ok. So fine. 8am mak dia call tanya anak nya dah bgn ker sbb dah kol 8am. So I ketuk lagi and she kelam kabut siap gi skolah. Now its 715am here and ayah dia dah panggil tadi soh bgn and I dah kejutkan skali dia bebel² something I didnt hear.. and it has been 1 hour. Dia masih lagi berhibernate :p I tak kisah nak kejutkan tapi saya yang cemas sbb awak tu masih in high school. Kalu uni ke takpe la gak nak gi lambat².. So what should I do now? Kalau anak sendiri ataupun anak sedara, I dah simbah dengan air sejuk.. :p

The coldness is making me eating alot. Been eating and eating and eating.. and eating.. As I am typing, I am eating Hazelnüss Ritter Sport while having a glass of Fanta Orange.
Yesterday I wasn't feeling well. I was just lying on the bed tak larat nak buat apa. It was around noon that I decided to take a shower after I could see very little sunlight. SO la la la I am singing in the hot shower when suddenly the shower went kaputt. I had soap and syampoo sume. Tensyen! Air stopped. And I had blogged earlier how it is showering in this weather. The transition between after having shower and bersiap² is the worst part. So imagine the situation I am in. So kalot la pakai air singki. Demmit.
I memang tak puas hati. So I decided to go to bandar since I had to go and buy potatoes and sayurs and some meat. So singgahla Bauhaus. I saw a nice shower thingy and it had a shower radio in it for free.. Yippie. Ok la, balik² excited ni nak install the thing in my bathroom. So, settle pasang shower menggunakan playar. It took me 3 minutes to do it. Not bad la memori KH form 3..
I decided to reward myself dengan memasang 2 heater serentak sambil pasang computer. So, after a few minutes, POOF! the electricity went out. Aduh.. apa ni? Not another Day 5 mishap! The fuse went kaputt pulak in our bedroom. Frustrated and cold. I shifted everything to Unsere Wohnzimmer (our livingroom) and hung out there. Watched a few episodes of Kings of Queens and slept during The Gilmore Girls (they talk really fast.. and I dunno dah season berapa dah because Rory is with a new boyfriend now). Skali my husband called to check on me. Sejuk la pulak in the living room. I decided to call home and of course bila borak with Mama, I will forget everything that happened and started to make Beef Stew.
So.. anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy, this post is actually about Comments. I was browsing through facebook (biasalah.. as much as a blog about how much I don't fancy it, I still do). I realized some people who simply assume and dengan selambanya put some comments that may seem 'baik'.. For example, if a person puts a comment about her constant eating habit, people simply assume that she is pregnant dengan meletakkan comments² like this..
'pregnant ke?' - [oh please, be more obvious will ya]
'ada 'si kecik' dalam tu kot..' - [always followed by 'hehehe' ..nak berlapik la kire]
'dah berapa bulan ? tahniah' - [selambenya jumping into conclusion]
I have seen this happened to myself and to other people who I personally know that are having problems conceiving. And I don't appreciate those kind of comments and I find it really offensive when I read it even when it doesn't happen to me. Apa diorang dapat dengan tulis those kind of comments ?
Satu lagi if people assume that if a person is gonna get married. Or dengan selambanya menanyakan soalan tu in public. What if that person is single ? Or seeing someone tapi mcam tengah in a very sensitive stage. Tak ke menjejaskan relationship orang ? I think people should really tapis what they are gonna comment.
I think if it happened to me, I think ok lagi kot.. Tapi for those yang memang sedang ada masalah that they are aware or not aware of, they should not say that.. Just shouldn't.. Kita mana tau problem orang .. Padahal status dia pasal eating disorder jer.. Or sometimes letak gambar, nampak berisi sket je orang terus jump into conclusion. Kita nampak orang tu rilek jer.. Tapi dalam hati dia, kita taktau.. Jadi, as a social networker, I merayu pada other social networkers, soalan² or comment² sensitive, biarlah simpan dalam hati jer.. or another way of saying it, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all..

Customer Service
I'm sure you've heard of this saying, 'Hujan emas di negara orang, hujan batu di negara sendiri, lebih baik di negara sendiri'.
On the last few days of my stay in KL, the usual 'stocking-up-food' to be mailed to DE took place. Biasalah, beli segara perencah², serbuk merbuk, ikan bilis kering, keropok, milo, all the 3-in-1s, maggi etc etc.. U get the idea. Anyway, me and my parents dok sebuk la packing about 20kg of these dried food to be mailed. I have done this before back in end February and alhamdulillah it reached here in DE in early April. safe and sound.
This was my experience in February2010 at Pos Office Kg Tunku. (POG = Post Office Girl)
POG : Nak pos ke mana kak?
ME : Nak pos ke Germany
POG : Ada berapa kotak ?
Me : 2 kotak, 1 kotak 10kg..
POG : Ok (handed me the consignment note to be filled)..
I filled up the consignment note and handed it to her to check.
POG : Em, akak, makanan tak boleh hantar..
Me : Oh ? tapi ni dried food..
POG : Haa.. skrg ni mmg strict sangat... tak boleh hantar apa² jenis makanan pun..
Me : Ye ke ? tapi selalu mak saya hantar ok jer..
POG : Pos ofis kat mane tu kak ?
POG : (checking the consignment note) Baju² pun sbnrnya tak boleh kak..
Me : (what the f!!!) What ?? Baju pun tak boleh ? Habis apa je boleh hantar ? Macam ne orang nak pindah² sume.. nak pos baju pun tak boleh ???
POG : (muka takut) Jap eh kak saya check kejap... (checking with other people in the pos office)
Me : Kalau baju pun tak boleh, tak payah hantar apa² la.. kalau nak pindah semua kena angkut dlm kapal terbang, bayar beribu ribu.. nak pos baju pun tak boleh (membebel to self)
POG : Ok kak.. Sbnrnya mmg tak boleh, tapi boss saya ckp terima je la.. tapi kalau apa² kita tak bertanggungjawab..
Me : Ye.
KEREKNYA! After that, we went to Pos office kelana jaya to mail the dried food. The guy terima je mcm biasa takde prob pun! Kerek aa minah kat Kg Tunku tu!
Another incident happened to me last week when I wanted to mail the 20kilos of dried food. (POM = Pos Office Man)
POM : Nak hantar ke mana kak ?
Me : Ke Germany..
POM : (checked the consignment note after I have filled it) .. Akak nak hantar dried food ker? errmm.. maaf kak, dried food mmg tak boleh..
Me : (muka tak puas hati) Eh, ye ke? dulu i hantar ok jer..
POM : Ke Germany ke kak?
Me : Haah kat Germany..
POM : Bila akak hantar..
Me : Saya hantar bulan 3 tahun nih..
POM : Oooh dia ada ruling baru kak.. sejak lepas raya, mmg tak boleh hantar makanan langsung..
Me : Ruling ni datang dari mane? Dari Malaysia ke dari germany?
POM : Dari sana kak.. kalau kat UK memang tak boleh hantar mkanan.. Dia bagi surat semua ada...
Me : Ye ke ? Germany bukan UK dik..
POM : (muka panik n mcm taktau nak letak mana).. Memang ada surat kak.. dia ckp dari negara² belah² sana memang tak boleh.. kat² Eropah.. ada surat dia tulis.. mmg surat tu dari negara diorg
Me : Ye ke.. nak tengok sikit surat tu dik.. Sbb u ckp UK.. mungkin Germany boleh ke.. Sbb setahu saya Germany bukan UK (perli)
POM : Kejap kak, saya tunjuk surat tu.. (sambil cari²) Tak pun akak try mailing services lain ker.. mcm DHL ke..
Me : Kejap, You ckp ruling tu datang dari belah² sana kan?
POM : Ye kak
ME : Habis kalu dari belah² sana, kalau pos malaysia pun diorg tak terima, dari DHL pun diorg tak terima la.. betul tak? You paham tak konsep dia?
POM :errr.. betul jugak tu kak.. (panik) kejap kak saya cari surat..
Me : Ok, saya tunggu
After 15 minutes
POM : Kejap kak, surat tu ada.. tp saya kena panggil bos saya kejap.. Boss saya yg simpan surat tu
Me : Haah.. saya nak tgk la surat tu, sbb u ckp UK.. Germany is not UK..
POM : Kejap ye kak
Boss dia pun dtg..
Boss : Puan, maaf puan.. surat tu ada kat KL Sentral.. tp Puan boleh check la .. saya bagi nombor nih.. 1300 300 300
Me : Your staff ckp memang ada surat.. Mcm mane u boleh tak terima kalau u takde copy of the letter ? Takde black n white pun..
Boss : kita memang ada terima surat tu.. tapi surat tu kat KL Sentral.. dia memang ckp negara2 UK tak terima..
Me : (sama bengong dgn staff) Saya nak hantar ke Germany, Saya akan ambil risiko tu. Germany is NOT in UK. And saya nak tengok surat yang your staff ckp negara² belah sana yang tak bagi bawak masuk dried food. sbb selama ni saya hantar , takde masalah. and kalau ada masalah kat sana, diorg takkan buang, diorg akan contact receiver and panggil ke pos office and bukak depan receiver sbb diorang takde hak nak bukak tanpa penerima sbb itu memang policy diorang..
Boss : (speechless) Puan boleh call nombor ni la.. kalau nak tengok surat tu.. ada kat KL sentral.. ni ruling baru puan.. sejak lepas raya haritu..
ME :(tenung dia lama saje nak menakutkan.. depa ni tak paham statement aku apa) Boleh bagi exact date tak ? U mesti penah tgk surat tu kan ?
Boss : Dalam awal bulan ni.
Me : Kalau saya boleh tengok surat tu lagi bagus. Takut u tersalah negara. Sbb u dgn ur staff ckp UK.
Boss : Sbnrnya memang dari dulu tak boleh.. Dari dulu² lagi.. mungkin Puan boleh cuba DHL atau express service yang lain...
Me : Saya rasa pelik lah.. Kalau u kata negara diorg yg tak bagi masuk, i pergi services lain pun, mesti sama jugak.. Jadi saya rasa pelik la.. Your staff pun ckp surat tu ada, tapi you pulak ckp surat tu kat KL sentral. maksudnya surat tu memang tak penah ada kat sini lah. Cuma pelik lah kalau takde black n white, you all tak nak terima bungkusan nih tanpa sebab yang konkrit..
Boss : Surat dia ada puan.. kat KL sentral.. Hardcopy dia memang simpan kat sana..
Me : Takpelah. Terima kasih. Saya akan contact Pos Office besar and ceritakan Hal ini.
Pelik lah how they work. I was seriously soo pissed off with them. Walaupun cara diorang ckp tak lah menyakitkan hati but the fact that they work like that, main sukati² jawab je.. Germany is NOT in the UK ok.. And you work in the post office you dont know that ??? ape nih ? Anak sedara i yang darjah 3 pun tau.. And dgn confiden ckp ada surat ada surat, bila i mintak produce takde lak tuu.. and I had to wait 15 minutes. Kalau betul takde surat, ckp je la.. pemalas!!
Yesterday, I called mama and she said she had mailed the package at Pejabat Office besar in Dayabumi. There were no questions asked and the people even helped my mom repacked the boxes.
Tak kecoh. Geram geram! Geram kat Pos Office KJ and KT!!! Siap la, akan ada complain letter to New Straits Times..

POM : Kejap kak, saya tunjuk surat tu.. (sambil cari²) Tak pun akak try mailing services lain ker.. mcm DHL ke..
Me : Kejap, You ckp ruling tu datang dari belah² sana kan?
POM : Ye kak
ME : Habis kalu dari belah² sana, kalau pos malaysia pun diorg tak terima, dari DHL pun diorg tak terima la.. betul tak? You paham tak konsep dia?
POM :errr.. betul jugak tu kak.. (panik) kejap kak saya cari surat..
Me : Ok, saya tunggu
After 15 minutes
POM : Kejap kak, surat tu ada.. tp saya kena panggil bos saya kejap.. Boss saya yg simpan surat tu
Me : Haah.. saya nak tgk la surat tu, sbb u ckp UK.. Germany is not UK..
POM : Kejap ye kak
Boss dia pun dtg..
Boss : Puan, maaf puan.. surat tu ada kat KL Sentral.. tp Puan boleh check la .. saya bagi nombor nih.. 1300 300 300
Me : Your staff ckp memang ada surat.. Mcm mane u boleh tak terima kalau u takde copy of the letter ? Takde black n white pun..
Boss : kita memang ada terima surat tu.. tapi surat tu kat KL Sentral.. dia memang ckp negara2 UK tak terima..
Me : (sama bengong dgn staff) Saya nak hantar ke Germany, Saya akan ambil risiko tu. Germany is NOT in UK. And saya nak tengok surat yang your staff ckp negara² belah sana yang tak bagi bawak masuk dried food. sbb selama ni saya hantar , takde masalah. and kalau ada masalah kat sana, diorg takkan buang, diorg akan contact receiver and panggil ke pos office and bukak depan receiver sbb diorang takde hak nak bukak tanpa penerima sbb itu memang policy diorang..
Boss : (speechless) Puan boleh call nombor ni la.. kalau nak tengok surat tu.. ada kat KL sentral.. ni ruling baru puan.. sejak lepas raya haritu..
ME :(tenung dia lama saje nak menakutkan.. depa ni tak paham statement aku apa) Boleh bagi exact date tak ? U mesti penah tgk surat tu kan ?
Boss : Dalam awal bulan ni.
Me : Kalau saya boleh tengok surat tu lagi bagus. Takut u tersalah negara. Sbb u dgn ur staff ckp UK.
Boss : Sbnrnya memang dari dulu tak boleh.. Dari dulu² lagi.. mungkin Puan boleh cuba DHL atau express service yang lain...
Me : Saya rasa pelik lah.. Kalau u kata negara diorg yg tak bagi masuk, i pergi services lain pun, mesti sama jugak.. Jadi saya rasa pelik la.. Your staff pun ckp surat tu ada, tapi you pulak ckp surat tu kat KL sentral. maksudnya surat tu memang tak penah ada kat sini lah. Cuma pelik lah kalau takde black n white, you all tak nak terima bungkusan nih tanpa sebab yang konkrit..
Boss : Surat dia ada puan.. kat KL sentral.. Hardcopy dia memang simpan kat sana..
Me : Takpelah. Terima kasih. Saya akan contact Pos Office besar and ceritakan Hal ini.
Pelik lah how they work. I was seriously soo pissed off with them. Walaupun cara diorang ckp tak lah menyakitkan hati but the fact that they work like that, main sukati² jawab je.. Germany is NOT in the UK ok.. And you work in the post office you dont know that ??? ape nih ? Anak sedara i yang darjah 3 pun tau.. And dgn confiden ckp ada surat ada surat, bila i mintak produce takde lak tuu.. and I had to wait 15 minutes. Kalau betul takde surat, ckp je la.. pemalas!!
Yesterday, I called mama and she said she had mailed the package at Pejabat Office besar in Dayabumi. There were no questions asked and the people even helped my mom repacked the boxes.
Tak kecoh. Geram geram! Geram kat Pos Office KJ and KT!!! Siap la, akan ada complain letter to New Straits Times..
